Birth Professionals Bereavement Support Meeting

Birth Professionals Support Group - Dragonflies for RubyIt takes a very special person to support a family in their darkest hours of pregnancy or infant loss. The caregiver is often left with questions and feelings that are difficult to process. Friends and family often wonder why we do what we do or how we can support a family through devastation.

This support group is designed for professionals who provide support to families enduring pregnancy and infant loss. Types of caregivers who have attended in the past are doulas, nurses, photographers, doctors, advocates, therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, massage therapists, childbirth educators, and grandparents of the family. Anyone who has supported a family through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant/child loss is welcome to attend.

A typical support group begins with introductions (name, what you do, how you serve). Then we have a moment of silence and grounding before we begin sharing stories. During the story sharing time, beads are passed around to provide participants with a tangible piece from the loss(es) they are processing with the group. A bracelet will be made from these beads. Following the story sharing and bracelet making, networking takes place and of course, tears are shared.

Confidentiality is of the utmost importance. Confidentiality agreements will be available at this group.

The cost to attend the support group is FREE however, a contribution of $10 is highly recommended. You may bring cash or send payment through Paypal. All funds are used to support families through Dragonflies For Ruby.
