Miscarriage and Stillbirth are some of the most common pregnancy complications women will face. These interactive learning webinars can assist you in understanding how support clients or patients through miscarriage or stillbirth. It is imperative that during difficult time birth professionals are knowledgeable on the do’s and don’ts of the emotional and physical management of pregnancy loss. Doulas have a critical role and are encouraged to continue providing the physical and emotional support to their clients experiencing pregnancy loss. If a doula is unable to enter this sacred space, they should refer their client to a bereavement doula rather than ending support and providing nothing.
If your client has experienced the loss of their baby, check out one of the webinars below to learn more on how you can support your client.
Working with Miscarriage and Stillbirth (Cost = $100)
3 hour online workshop
Participants will learn the types of losses and how to work with families who are experiencing an unexpected loss. We will explore in an interactive workshop how birth professionals can provide support during a miscarriage or stillbirth, how to provide support after a loss, and how the birth professional can care for themselves after supporting the loss. We will end the workshop with local resources and information to give to clients as well as resources for the birth professional. Participants will be given an assignment prior to attending the workshop that will help them build a network of understanding surrounding the options available to families enduring miscarriage and stillbirth. The assignment will be given following confirmed registration of the workshop and must be completed and emailed back to the instructor prior to the class beginning. 3 ICEA Contact Hours are available.
