When Hello Means Good-bye
The death of a baby is very unexpected. As parents, we are not designed to bury our children but when a baby dies before they are born, the journey is wrought with confusion and disbelief. Parents are often presented with questions they had never considered having answers for. As a bereavement doula, I am available to assist families through an unexpected loss/stillbirth. Whether you just left your doctor’s office and learned of your baby’s passing or are currently in labor, I can come to you and provide continuous support through your loss.
The initial consultation is free. Support you will receive:
- Labor support (physical, emotional, and informational)
- Welcoming your baby
- Assisting with memory making and bonding
- Building relationships and resources
- Saying good-bye
- Planning for your baby’s final resting place
- Lactation support
- Postpartum visit
- Attendance at follow-up appointments if desired
- 12-week therapeutic mentorship
My support does not end in the delivery room and extends for weeks and months to assist you on this life long journey of adjusting to a new “normal.” Support can provided via phone, email, and text messages as well as in-person.
If you would like to begin personalized grief support without a doula in attendance of your birth, my 12-week therapeutic mentorship program is perfect to help you as you navigate this journey. You do not have to go through this alone.
Suggested “Love Tip” depends on the level of service requested; however, $250 is suggested as a minimum tip.
The Hayden Project was founded by Jennifer Mason after being contacted to photograph a stillbirth at 20-21 weeks gestation. The family was not eligible for photography services with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. If Jennifer is not available, we have a network of compassionate photographers who can assist you in creating memories no matter what gestation of your baby.
